Chest Day? Try This As A Warm Up

It’s international push-up week this week!

Ok it’s not, but who gets to decide when it’s international anything week anyway? How do you get the whole world to start raising awareness for a particular subject at the same time? Think of the organisation you’d have to go through!

Sorry, that all being said, I’ve got a couple of push-up blogs for you this week.

Today’s is a quick warm up that a friend showed me at the academy a couple of years ago. It involves doing fifty push-ups, preferably back to back, but as always you can work up to it in sets if need be.

You’re going to start with ten triangle/narrow push-ups.

10-pushups

Jump your hands into a normal width push-up and do another ten.

20-pushups

Jump wider once again into a wide push-up, and push another ten up.

30-pushups

You’re past halfway now! Bring your arms back in to a normal width push-up following it with another ten.

40-pushups

Last set now, jump back into the triangle/narrow push-up position and finish with the last ten.

50-pushups

As I’ve said, this is a great warm up before you hit the bench press, but it also makes a great post-workout after burn. When you’ve finished with your weights or whatever you happen to be doing, try this routine again and see if you can still bust it out.
